Quick take

Compact 7.3 oz baitcaster with 18 lb drag and 6-way centrifugal braking for precise freshwater casting.

The 13 Fishing Origin C is a low-profile baitcasting reel in a 200 size, with a 6.6:1 gear ratio and a right-hand retrieve. It has an aluminum frame, a multi-material drag with 18 lb of drag, a 6-way centrifugal braking system and 2+4+1 bearings. At 7.3 ounces, it suits anglers who cast mono, fluorocarbon or braid and want a light baitcaster.

Best for

  • Freshwater bass and pike fishing with medium lures
  • Anglers using both fast and moderate presentations
  • Situations requiring reliable mid-range performance

Skip if

  • You need a saltwater reel
  • You fish exclusively soft plastics or heavy cover

Strengths

  • 6-way centrifugal braking provides fine-tuned spool control
  • 18 lb multi-material drag handles hard-fighting fish
  • Lightweight 7.3 oz construction reduces hand fatigue

Trade-offs

  • Moderate 6.6 ratio does not suit extreme speed presentations
  • Freshwater only; no saltwater protection
  • Mid-range specifications appeal to general rather than specialist anglers
