Quick take
A 106mm suspending jerkbait with a weight transfer system for long casts and sharp darting.
The Provoke 106 in Bluegill Spawn is a 4.17-inch hard jerkbait for bass, weighing about half an ounce. It works in the 3 to 6 foot range, and its internal weighting lets it hang slow floating or suspended during pauses. A tapered tail gives it sharp darts and turns with each twitch of the rod.
Best for
- Bass fishing with aggressive jerking presentations
- Clear to slightly stained water where flash helps
- Anglers who enjoy active lure control
Skip if
- You fish murky water; bright colors muddy the profile
- You prefer steady retrieves; jerkbaits need twitching
Strengths
- Weight transfer system improves casting distance and control
- Tapered tail and tuned bill dive deep with sharp, realistic action
- Super sharp hooks stick on aggressive strikes
Trade-offs
- Jerking technique requires constant rod tip work
- Deep-diving version may hang on bottom structure
- Treble hooks snag weeds and wood; plan on losing lures
