Quick take
A four-arm harness with plastic snaps designed to secure crab and shrimp traps during deployment and retrieval.
This orange nylon harness ties four arms to one metal ring, so a single mainline can lift a crab or shrimp trap from the bottom. Four plastic snaps clip on and off quickly, which makes it easy to attach and remove from most crab traps, shrimp traps and pots. The arms are about 29.5 inches long, and the pack holds one harness. It suits anglers who crab or trap shrimp from a pier or a boat.
Best for
- Crabbing and shrimping from boat or shore
- Keeping traps stable while fishing
- Multiple trap deployments
Skip if
- You use small crab nets
- You fish freshwater only
Strengths
- Four nylon arms distribute trap weight
- Plastic snaps are lightweight and corrosion-proof
- Metal ring provides strong mainline attachment
Trade-offs
- Metal ring is not rust-proof; requires maintenance
- Orange color may limit use in some applications
- Limited to trap use; not multipurpose
