Quick take
A 3g metal micro jig for vertical jigging in saltwater micro fishing and shore jigging.
The Abu Garcia Micro Jig Flat is a compact metal jig about an inch long, sold as a single piece in the Akakin color with a tinsel-dressed hook. At roughly a tenth of an ounce in the 3 g size, it suits light micro jigging from shore and small-game outings. Anglers who like to cast small, fast-sinking metal and work it back with a simple lift-and-drop will find it an easy one to start with.
Best for
- Vertical jigging in deep water from shore
- Micro game and small species on light spinning tackle
- School fish feeding aggressively near structure
Skip if
- You fish freshwater or need larger lures
- You prefer soft plastic grubs over metal jigs
Strengths
- Compact 2.5 cm profile matches small baitfish
- Metal body sinks quickly to target depth
- Tinsel hook adds flash and movement
Trade-offs
- 3g weight is extremely light and difficult to cast
- Small hook limits target size to panfish and mackerel
- Micro profile requires sensitive rod and line control

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
