Quick take
A thick neoprene cover that protects round baitcasting reels during storage and transport without removing the reel from the rod.
This is a 2 mm neoprene cover sized for 6000 round spinning reels in the Abu Garcia Revo line. Hook-and-loop closures hold it on, and it fits over a reel that is still mounted to the rod, so you can cover it between trips without taking anything apart. It suits anglers who carry rigged rods in a truck or boat and want a snug sleeve over the reel.
Best for
- Travel and tournament storage of rigged tackle
- Keeping dust and moisture off reels at home
Skip if
- You frequently change your reel setup
- Your reel is not an Abu Garcia model
Strengths
- Thick 2 mm neoprene provides cushioning during transport
- Stays on the rod, eliminating a separate storage item
- Hook and loop fasteners are reliable and repeatedly adjustable
Trade-offs
- Cover fits only Abu Garcia reels in specific size ranges
- Neoprene traps moisture if stored while damp
- Cover must be removed before casting
