Quick take
A 150-piece assortment of circle hooks in five sizes for catch-and-release fishing and reduced fish mortality across freshwater and saltwater species.
This 150-piece kit of in-line circle hooks covers sizes 1/0 through 5/0, with 30 hooks of each size in a plastic box. The high carbon steel hooks have a straight eye, a needle point and a barbed point. The round gape suits catch-and-release anglers going after catfish, bass, walleye or redfish in fresh or salt water.
Best for
- Live-bait fishing with big fish
- Bottom rigs for catfish and stripers
- Ethical catch-and-release fishing
Skip if
- You fish soft plastics or lures
- You need very small hooks for panfish
Strengths
- Circle hook design hooks fish in the corner of the mouth for easier release
- Straight eye suits many rigging styles
- Barbed design holds prey firmly without damaging gills
Trade-offs
- Circle hooks require a firm set rather than aggressive hook sets
- Larger sizes are not suitable for panfish or small species
- Barbed design makes them harder to remove from deep-hooked fish
