Quick take
A 60-pack of red plastic hook covers for treble and single hooks that protect tackle and skin while preventing tangles.
These large red hook bonnets slip over treble hooks in roughly size 1 to 2/0, and they also work on single hooks. Slide them on before stowing lures to keep points from snagging line, clothing or fingers in the tackle box. The pack of 60 is reusable and made in the USA, a handy fit for anglers who carry a lot of crankbaits and spinners.
Best for
- Storing treble-hooked crankbaits and topwater lures
- Organizing tackle boxes safely without hook snags
- Protecting hands and clothing while handling gear
Skip if
- You store lures on a rod rack where covers aren't needed
- You have very large hooks that need custom protection
Strengths
- High-quality plastic maintains shape through many uses
- Secure fit keeps hooks covered without slipping
- Red color is easy to spot in a tackle box
Trade-offs
- Bonnets add bulk to lures and take space in the tackle box
- Repeated use can eventually wear the plastic
- Limited to standard treble hook sizes
