Quick take

1/4 pound spool of 40-pound test clear monofilament with excellent knot strength and abrasion resistance.

Ande's 40-pound monofilament comes as a clear, single-strand line on a 1/4-pound spool, a size that suits anglers who want one test weight for a few setups. Monofilament at this test works for general freshwater and inshore fishing, where easy knot tying and a manageable spool size count for a lot.

Best for

General-purpose spinning and casting
Freshwater and saltwater fishing
Anglers who prefer monofilament
