Quick take

A medium-soft 8 lb test monofilament in bright green for freshwater panfish, trout and light saltwater use.

This is a green monofilament fishing line on a 1/8-pound spool, rated at 8 pounds of test. It is a medium-soft mono, a straightforward choice for anglers who want a general-purpose line for everyday casting and spinning setups.

Best for

  • Spinning reels for panfish and small trout in creeks and ponds
  • Light saltwater sight-fishing in clear shallows
  • Ultralight rigs where visible line does not spook fish in stained water

Skip if

  • You need invisible line in gin-clear water
  • You fish heavy cover where line strength over visibility matters

Strengths

  • Medium-soft monofilament balances knot strength with manageable handling
  • Very abrasion-resistant so it resists fraying and line-twist problems
  • Bright green visibility helps you see line movement and detect subtle bites

Trade-offs

  • Bright green color is visible to fish in very clear shallow water
  • Small 1/8 lb spool means you will need to respool frequently
  • Monofilament has memory and can develop coils after long storage on the reel
