Quick take

A compact braided line made from reinforced polyethylene with thin diameter and zero stretch for deep-water and long-distance casting.

Best for

  • Deep-water fishing where extra line capacity matters
  • High-wind casting where a thin line cuts resistance
  • Saltwater and freshwater trolling and jigging

Skip if

  • You fish shallow water and prefer monofilament
  • You want to minimize abrasion resistance and sensitivity trade-off

Strengths

  • Zero-stretch construction transmits bites instantly
  • Thin diameter holds more line on small reels
  • Smooth plait passes easily through rod guides
  • Abrasion-resistant fibers resist sharp objects

Trade-offs

  • Braided line can fray if not cut with sharp scissors
  • Visible in clear water; requires fluorocarbon leader
  • Compact weave can catch on rod guides when cast
