Quick take
A nylon-coated steel wire leader with three hooks, swivel and snap, ready to tie to your main line for saltwater or rocky-bottom fishing.
This pre-tied bass rig pairs a 7-strand steel wire leader with a nylon coating and hooks that turn 360 degrees on a copper swivel. The set includes snaps, grow beads and leader wire, with a 22.8-inch main line and a 5.1-inch arm. It suits anglers who want a ready-to-fish hook rig for bass.
Best for
- Pier and jetty fishing for stripers or catfish
- Rocky or sandy bottoms where line cuts easily
- Quick rig changes with the snap connector
Skip if
- You fish tight cover; wires snag more than mono
- You prefer single-hook rigs; this has three hooks in tandem
Strengths
- Steel leader resists sharp rocks and teeth
- Three rotating hooks improve hookup odds on aggressive strikes
- Nylon coating reduces visibility while keeping strength
Trade-offs
- Steel wire feels stiff and is harder to rig than mono
- Three hooks tangle easily in a tackle box
- The snap connector can slip during hard runs
