Quick take
Zero-stretch braided line with the thinnest diameter for its strength, designed for maximum sensitivity and casting distance.
This is a green, 150-yard spool of Ardent Gliss, a single-strand polyethylene line with almost no stretch. The 40 lb test version is a thin, slick line for spinning reels, aimed at anglers who want direct feel at the rod tip. It works in both freshwater and saltwater.
Best for
- Spinning reel applications where you need excellent sensitivity
- Freshwater and saltwater fishing with light line
- Anglers seeking low-stretch performance
Skip if
- You need a line that stretches to absorb shock on light tackle
- You prefer monofilament for general-purpose fishing
Strengths
- Zero line twist makes it manageable on spinning reels
- Thin diameter for superior casting distance
- Efficient water cutting for better presentation
Trade-offs
