Quick take

Two-color fly tippet that doubles as a built-in strike indicator for nymphing.

Best for

  • European nymphing techniques
  • Low-light fishing where shadows help visibility
  • Detecting subtle takes on weighted nymphs

Skip if

  • You already use a separate indicator setup
  • Dry fly fishing; colors spook trout

Strengths

  • Alternating red and yellow colors detect strikes without a bobber
  • 20-inch segments provide sensitive feel for nymph fishing
  • Co-polymer material balances strength and knot reliability

Trade-offs

  • Colored tippet spooks fish in gin-clear water
  • Two-color design more visible to fish than monofilament
  • Requires tying onto existing tippet; not a complete setup
