Quick take
Wide-brim hat with a protective mosquito net and dual solar fans for sun and insect protection during outdoor fishing.
This wide-brim hat pairs UPF 50+ fabric and a 4.8-inch brim with a 19.7-inch mosquito net that can be rolled up out of the way. Two built-in solar fans with three speeds move air across the face or back of the neck, and they run from sunlight or a USB charge. A drawstring adjusts the fit up to a 24.8-inch head circumference, which suits long days on the bank or the boat when bugs and sun are both out.
Best for
- Fishing in buggy conditions like marshes and swamps
- Long days in the sun with minimal shade
- Anglers who fish at dawn and dusk
Skip if
- You prefer lightweight hats without electronics
- You fish in cooler climates with few insects
Strengths
- 19.7 inch net covers face and neck to block mosquitoes and midges
- UPF 50+ fabric blocks over 98 percent of UV rays
- Solar fan system runs indefinitely in sunlight; USB backup for cloudy days
Trade-offs
- Added weight and bulk compared to a simple fishing hat
- Fans require maintenance in saltwater environments
- Dark mesh reduces visibility compared to open brim
