Quick take
Two collapsible spring crab traps with galvanized frames and polyethylene mesh, designed for easy crab and shrimp capture.
This green round trap set includes two small collapsible crab traps, each 35 by 20 centimeters, with a galvanized steel spring frame and polyethylene netting. Half-inch mesh openings and an open top make it straightforward to bait and empty when targeting crawfish, shrimp or crab. A bait bag and a rubber-grip handle complete the set for use from the bank or a dock.
Best for
- Crabbing and shrimp trapping from docks, piers or boats
- Anglers who want portable collapsible traps
- Saltwater environments where corrosion is a concern
Skip if
- You need a trap larger than 35 cm for very large crabs
- You want a rigid frame that does not collapse
Strengths
- The spring design collapses flat for easy transport and storage
- Galvanized steel with plastic coating resists saltwater rust
- The large 0.5-inch mesh lets small crabs and shrimp enter easily
Trade-offs
- Spring traps are slower to set up and tear down than rigid traps
- The collapsible design may weaken the frame over time
- Two small traps mean less catch capacity than one large trap
Fishing fit
- Species
- Crab & shrimp
- Water
- Saltwater
