Quick take
Lightweight fingerless gloves that provide sun protection and grip while keeping fingers free for tying knots and handling fish.
The BASSDASH Astro is a fingerless glove for fishing, kayaking and paddling, built from stretch fabric, microfiber leather, neoprene and spandex. The index and middle fingers are cut longer than the others, and the double-layer palm gives a grip when handling line and fish. It is ambidextrous, hand wash only, and suits anglers who want bare fingertips for tying knots and working small tackle.
Best for
- Sun exposure on the water where UV protection matters
- Paddling and casting where finger control is needed
- Warm-weather fishing where full gloves are too heavy
Skip if
- You fish cold water and need thermal protection
- You prefer unencumbered hands without any glove
Strengths
- Fingerless design gives full dexterity for knot tying and hook setting
- 4-way stretch moves with your hand without binding
- Microfiber leather provides grip when wet
- Neoprene padding offers light warmth
Trade-offs
- No thermal insulation for cold water
- Fingerless cut leaves knuckles exposed to sun and cuts
- Requires hand washing, limiting convenience
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
