Quick take
Scent-dispensing 4-inch soft earthworm for panfish and trout under a float or on a light jig.
This 4-inch Berkley Gulp! Earthworm is an extruded soft-plastic worm in the Red Wiggler color, sold in a 1.1-ounce jar. It is built around Gulp!'s scent-dispersing formula, so it suits anglers who want a natural worm profile for a range of species. Rig it on a hook or jig head, from a first cast to a seasoned day on the water.
Best for
- Panfish and crappie under a bobber in ponds
- Trout in streams with a float rig
- Light jig presentations for catfish in small creeks
Skip if
- You prefer rigid baits that hold their shape through multiple casts
- You fish large catfish that need a bulkier profile
Strengths
- Scent dispersion attracts fish from a distance while they approach
- Soft plastic mimics natural earthworm movement in the water
- Small 4-inch size matches live worm profiles for panfish
Trade-offs
- Plastic bait lacks the natural scent and movement of a live worm
- Scent dispersal diminishes over time or with multiple fish contacts
- Soft material can tear easily when rigged or during aggressive strikes
