Quick take
A 4-inch soft plastic earthworm with extreme scent dispersion, designed as a durable alternative to live worms.
The Berkley Gulp! Earthworm in Brown is a 4 inch straight-tail soft bait made to stand in for a live earthworm. Its Gulp! scent-dispersing material is aimed at anglers who want a nightcrawler look without keeping bait on hand. The natural brown color and simple profile suit first-timers and seasoned anglers rigging it for a range of species.
Best for
- Panfish and trout in ponds and small streams
- Jigging off the bottom with panfish rigs
- Anglers who want the durability of plastic over live worms
Skip if
- You need a larger worm for catfish or pike
- You prefer live bait exclusively
Strengths
- Extreme scent dispersion expands the strike zone around the lure
- Durable plastic resists damage from toothy fish or repeated casting
- Color and shape mimic natural earthworms closely
Trade-offs

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
