Quick take
Soft plastic sand eels that mimic live baitfish with rapid scent dispersion for saltwater stripers and redfish.
This 5-inch soft bait copies a sand eel, a baitfish that striped bass and fluke feed on along the coast. It comes six to a bag in a Silver Mud color and releases scent as it sits or swims. Rig it on a jig head or weighted hook, or use it as a trailer on a bucktail.
Best for
- Saltwater stripers and redfish over sand flats
- Sight-casting to cruising fish
- Trolling near structure in deeper water
Skip if
- You need baits for muddy water; these work best in clear water
- You target freshwater species like bass or pike
Strengths
- Scent dispersion attracts fish from greater distance
- Lifelike shape and soft plastic feel
- Works in both casting and trolling presentations

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
