Quick take
A 164-yard spool of 15 lb 5-strand braided line with low-visibility crystal color for heavy cover and structure fishing.
This 15 lb Berkley X5 Braid comes on a 164-yard spool in a crystal color that is easy to keep track of while you fish. It is a five-carrier braid built for anglers who work thick vegetation and heavy cover. A light test like this one suits spinning and finesse setups where a thin line is wanted.
Best for
- Cutting through thick vegetation, brush and timber
- Fishing heavy structure where abrasion resistance is essential
- Anglers who want high strength with minimal diameter for longer casts
Skip if
- You fish open water with light presentations; braid shows in clear water
- You prefer monofilament for its shock absorption
Strengths
- 5-strand construction adds an extra layer of braid for unmatched tensile strength
- 100% PE fiber delivers durability and knot strength without stretch
- Low-visibility crystal color reduces detection in water
Trade-offs
- Crystal low-vis braid shows on the water surface; backing or topshot recommended
- Abrasion on guides or structure can fray or damage braid
- 164-yard spool runs short for large saltwater spools or deep-water applications
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
