Skip if
- You're a beginner at cast netting; practice on a 4 ft net first
- You need to catch tiny fry or large baitfish over 4 in
Strengths
- 1/4 in mesh catches medium baitfish efficiently without getting tangled
- Heavy-duty Tyzac nylon and reinforced lead line sink faster for deeper drops
- Extra weight means the net opens fully and sinks evenly
Trade-offs
- Casting a 5 ft net requires practice and upper body strength
- Large mesh size lets small fry escape; best for defined baitfish species
