Quick take
Stainless steel scissors with a power notch for cutting braided line, leaders, and rig components.
These braid scissors pair stainless steel serrated blades with textured, non-slip handles that suit left and right hands. A nylon sheath and a lanyard come with them, so they clip to a belt or hang at the chest within easy reach on the water. Beyond braided line, they trim fluorocarbon-style leader, rig sleeves and soft plastics.
Best for
- Cutting braided line when a knife fails
- Trimming soft rigging materials without tearing
- Quick access with a lanyard on your vest or belt
Skip if
- You prefer a single multi-tool over dedicated scissors
- You mainly fish monofilament that cuts easily
Strengths
- Serrated edges hold braided line without slipping
- Power notch cuts steel leader with leverage
- Ergonomic handles fit right and left hand users
Trade-offs
- Scissors are heavier than a folding knife
- Power notch requires two-hand squeeze for steel
- Stainless steel dulls faster than carbon steel
