Quick take

A 2-piece spinning rod built from 30-ton carbon for freshwater and inshore saltwater fishing.

This 6'6" two-piece spinning rod pairs a medium power with a fast action, a lively combination for working lures like jigs and small crankbaits. Its 30-ton carbon blank and split cork grip keep it light in the hand, and the two sections break down to travel in a car or boat. A good fit for anglers chasing bass, walleye or redfish on spinning gear.

Best for

  • Bass, walleye and trout in freshwater
  • Inshore species like redfish and flounder
  • Anglers who value portability and transport

Skip if

  • You need one-piece construction
  • You fish with heavy saltwater lures

Strengths

  • 30-ton carbon provides sensitivity without weight
  • Two-piece design fits in backpacks and car trunks
  • Cork handle stays warm in cold water

Trade-offs

  • Joint between pieces reduces overall strength slightly
  • Cork handle requires care in saltwater use
  • Medium power limits heavy-duty fishing
