Quick take

A rod-mounted clip system that holds drop shot weights and hooks in place to reduce tangling during fishing or travel.

The Cali Clip is a molded plastic rod clip that parks a drop shot weight on one side and a hook on the other, so line stays untangled while you travel or store a rod. The set includes small, medium and large clips, sized to fit rod blanks from about 0.35 to 0.60 inch across. It weighs about 0.3 ounces and can also hold swim jigs or Texas rigs.

Best for

  • Keeping line untangled between casts
  • Securing rigs while traveling
  • Drop shot and jig organization on the rod

Skip if

  • You prefer permanent tackle storage
  • You use very light rods where clips affect balance

Strengths

  • Three sizes fit different rod diameters
  • Holds both weights and lures securely
  • Lightweight design does not affect rod feel

Trade-offs

  • Adds a visible accessory to the rod
  • Requires proper clip positioning to avoid line twists
  • Most useful for anglers who frequently swap rigs
