Quick take
Neoprene rod sling carrier with adjustable straps and individual sleeves for rod and reel sets, padded shoulder strap.
The Cal Coast Fishing Rod Mule is a strap-style carrier that bundles up to ten rods, reels attached, for the walk to the water or the ride to the boat. A sleeve covers the rod tips, a hook-and-loop strap wraps the grips, and a padded shoulder strap frees up your hands. It suits anglers who bring several outfits along and want them untangled and in one trip.
Best for
- Carrying multiple rods to fishing spots
- Walking between rivers or sections
- Keeping rods organized and untangled
Skip if
- You need rigid protection for travel
- You fish only one rod at a time
Strengths
- Holds up to 10 rods with organized layout
- Adjustable straps fit different reel sizes
- Neoprene protects rods from minor damage
- Padded shoulder strap distributes weight
Trade-offs
- Neoprene does not protect against hard impacts
- Not waterproof
- Opens from top, rods may contact water
