Quick take
Compact 55-pound scale with backlit display and memory function for on-the-water weighing.
A pocket-sized handheld suspension scale for weighing a catch, about 3.2 by 1.9 by 0.6 inches and 1.7 ounces. It reads in pounds and ounces or kilograms up to 55 pounds, with a backlit LCD and a USB-C rechargeable battery. Three weights can be stored for total and average readings, handy for tallying a day on the water or a tournament bag.
Best for
- Tournament fishing where every tenth of a pound matters
- Quick weighing on boats where speed is important
- Anglers who fish long hours and need reliable battery life
Skip if
- You need a scale heavier than 55 pounds
- You prefer mechanical scales with no battery
Strengths
- Backlit LCD remains readable in low light and at night
- Auto power-off after 2 minutes saves battery for multi-day trips
- USB-C rechargeable eliminates need for replacement batteries
- Memory function stores three previous weights for comparison
Trade-offs
- Small 1.7-ounce hook requires careful handling with large fish
- Backlit display drains battery faster than non-backlit scales
- Accuracy to 0.02kg may not matter for casual fishing
