Quick take
A set of five topwater frogs in soft plastic with weedless hooks, 3D eyes, and leg details that collapse on bite for solid hooksets.
Best for
- Casting into thick grass, lily pads, and shallow weeds
- Bass and pike in ponds and shallow lakes
- Topwater fishing when fish are active on the surface
Skip if
- You fish hard cover like timber; a frog can snag badly
- You want a sinking frog for deeper water
Strengths
- Weedless hooks slide through vegetation without snagging
- Soft hollow body collapses on impact, exposing sharp hooks
- Leg action on retrieve mimics a swimming frog
Trade-offs
- Five frogs is a small supply; you lose them to snagged line and weeds
- Hollow-body frogs are delicate; hooks can bend or line can slip
- The soft plastic absorbs water scent; effectiveness is limited

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
