Quick take
Aluminum magnetic holder that keeps your fly net secure on your vest and releases with a twist for quick landing.
This is a magnetic net release for fly anglers, with an aluminum shell and a carabiner for clipping it to a vest or pack. It holds a landing net within reach on the hip and keeps the handle from dangling or catching on brush while you wade and cast. The gun metal finish is compact and light, and the same magnet can pick up small metal tackle that drops in shallow water.
Best for
- Fly fishers wading creeks and rivers
- Keeping net tangle-free and accessible
- Recovering fallen metal tackle
Skip if
- You use boat nets instead of hand nets
- You don't carry a hand net
Strengths
- Magnetic hold is secure but quick-release
- Aluminum resists corrosion in both water types
- Carabiner attaches easily to vest or pack
Trade-offs
- Magnetic force can attract unwanted ferrous objects
- Aluminum is less durable than stainless steel
- Small accessory is easy to lose on water

- Freshwater
- Saltwater
