Quick take
Rotating-blade topwater lures that produce sound and vibration to attract shallow-water bass.
This is a six-piece set of 5/8 oz buzzbaits aimed at bass, with each lure in a different color. Buzzbaits are surface baits worked with a steady retrieve so the blade churns and squeaks across the top in shallow water. The mix of colors lets an angler switch between bright and dark patterns as light and water clarity change.
Best for
- Casting over shallow cover where bass hide
- Low-light conditions when dark colors help silhouette
- Day fishing when bright colors show in clear water
Skip if
- You fish deep structure; these stay at the surface
- You need subtle presentations; buzzbaits are loud
Strengths
- Rotating blade produces vibration fish feel and hear at distance
- Low weight of 5/8 oz works on light line
- Six colors allow matching water clarity and lighting
Trade-offs
- Topwater lures require active casting; not for passive fishing

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
