Quick take
A 5mm chloroprene reel cover designed to protect Daiwa baitcasting and electric reels during storage and transport.
This black chloroprene cover from Daiwa is sized for large electric reels and bigger baitcasting setups. The 5mm-thick neoprene wraps the reel in padding, and the CV-LL size adds a rigid board that shields the LCD screen. It also fits over a reel that is still mounted on the rod, so it suits anglers who carry a rigged outfit to the water.
Best for
- Storing baitcasting reels in the garage or shed
- Transporting reels on a vehicle without scratches
- Protecting reels from dust and salt spray
Skip if
- You use spinning reels; this is for baitcasters only
- Your reels are left on the rods; this won't fit
Strengths
- 5mm thickness protects from impacts and scratches
- Chloroprene resists water and salt spray
- Case can stay on the reel while mounted on the rod
Trade-offs
- Specific to Daiwa sizes; won't fit other brands
- 750-1200mm range may not fit all Daiwa models
- Chloroprene can degrade if left in direct sun
