Quick take
A compact retractable reel with two pins for holding small fishing tools or gear.
This Daiwa pin-on reel is a small retractor that clips to a vest or bag and keeps two small tools within reach. Its two cords let you attach a pair of items, such as nippers and forceps, and each cord pulls out to about 19.7 inches (50 cm). The body is thin and compact, so it stays out of the way while you fish.
Best for
- Keeping forceps and nippers on a lanyard
- Fly fishing with multiple small tools
- Anglers who want gear always within reach
Skip if
- You carry large or heavy tools
- You fish with minimal gear
Strengths
- Compact design won't catch on brush or line
- Double pin lets you attach two items
- Vertical pin prevents tools from swinging
Trade-offs
- 19.7 inch cord is short for some uses
- Thin body may break under heavy weight
- Retract mechanism may jam with dirt
