Quick take
An 8-strand braided line with Izanas material for smooth casting and sensitivity in freshwater and saltwater.
Daiwa's J-Braid Grand X8 in 15 lb test, spooled with 300 yards of Island Blue line, is an eight-carrier braid spun with Izanas fiber, a material the maker positions for strong abrasion resistance. The blue shade stands out against water and sky, which helps when following the line on the surface. It suits anglers who cast lures and rigs in a range of freshwater settings.

- Bass and pike fishing
- Casting into weeds or cover
