Quick take

Natural fiber netting material for repairing or building landing nets and other fishing applications.

This is a 12-foot length of white natural fish netting from DDI. It is a loose, open-weave netting sold in a folded package of about 11.3 by 4.6 by 1.1 inches, so it takes little room to carry. It suits decorating and display uses such as nautical or fishing-themed setups, rather than scooping a fish out of the water.

Best for

  • Replacing worn netting on an existing landing net
  • Making a custom landing net for a specific rod length
  • Durable repairs to well-used nets

Skip if

  • You want netting that dries quickly
  • You need a finished ready-to-use landing net

Strengths

  • Natural fiber resists rot better than some synthetics
  • White color easy to see in water
  • Can be cut and configured to fit your needs

Trade-offs

  • Thin listing gives no mesh size specification
  • Natural fiber absorbs water and adds weight when wet
  • Requires sewing or knot-tying to construct or repair
