Quick take
Plastic split shot in five compartments with high grip and low line abrasion, for rig tuning without tackle tools.
This five-compartment green plastic tin keeps split shot organized in one place, with a wide slot that makes each shot easier to open. At about 2.8 by 2.8 inches across, it stays compact enough for a tackle box or vest pocket. It is built for fishing, so anglers who want a tidy way to carry their weights can keep it close at hand.
Best for
- Float-fished rigs where weight needs tuning
- Anglers who want to avoid lead completely
- Quick depth adjustments on the bank
Skip if
- You want a single unified weight rather than tunable compartments
- You prefer lead split shot for tradition or sinking speed
Strengths
- Five separate compartments allow precise weight adjustment
- Plastic avoids lead entirely for environmental concerns
- Wide slot grips line firmly without pinching
Trade-offs
- Plastic is bulkier than equivalent lead weight
- Compartments can separate if the outer ring breaks
- Green color may be less invisible to selective fish
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
- Techniques
- Float fishing
- Bottom fishing
