Quick take

An ABS plastic fish lip gripper that holds fish securely by the lower lip while floats keep it from sinking if dropped in the water.

This is a lip-gripper style fish holder with an ABS plastic body, made for taking hold of a fish by the jaw so you can unhook it with a free hand. It runs about 11.4 inches long and weighs roughly 50 grams, light enough to carry in a tackle box or clip to a bag. A ring at the base lets you hang it between catches, and the grip handle is shaped for a steady hold.

Best for

  • Holding large bass and pike for photos
  • Handling catfish and other strong species
  • Boat fishing where dropping gear overboard is a risk

Skip if

  • You target small fish
  • You practice catch-and-release without gripping

Strengths

  • Floating design prevents loss if dropped in water
  • Lightweight design reduces fatigue during long days
  • Anti-slip handle provides secure grip on wet hands

Trade-offs

  • Clamping action can injure fish if gripped too hard
  • ABS plastic may crack if dropped on hard surfaces
  • Limited grip range for very large fish mouths
