Quick take
High-carbon steel offset worm hooks with wide gap and sharp 3-sided point for soft plastic rigging.
This Dovesun extra wide gap offset worm hook is a size 3/0, packed 50 to a pack, in high carbon steel with a needle point. The offset shank and wide gap suit Texas and Carolina rigs with creature baits, craws and worms around docks, grass and laydowns. It is a fit for anglers going after bass, northern pike and walleye on soft plastics.
Best for
- Texas rigging soft worms and creature baits
- Heavy cover flipping and pitching
- Anglers who want strong, sharp hooks
Skip if
- You fish live bait only; use live bait hooks instead
- You want hooks with wider shanks
Strengths
- 2X strong steel handles hard strikes and heavy cover
- Offset bend prevents line from cutting soft baits
- 3-sided point penetrates quickly on light to medium bites
Trade-offs
- Extra wide gap may not suit all soft plastic baits
- Black nickel finish requires rinse after saltwater
- Obtuse-angle bend harder to sharpen if dulled
