Quick take
A 100-pack of black nickel 6/0 circle hooks with an upturned eye and offset point, designed for live-bait catfish fishing.
This Dovesun 6/0 circle hook is a black, high-carbon steel octopus hook in a pack of 60. Its upturned 145-degree eye lets the line run straight through, and its 12-degree offset with a curved point suits lip and jaw hook-ups. Anglers use it with live or cut bait on catfish, striped bass and tuna, from a Carolina, free-line or split-shot rig.
Best for
- Catfish on the bottom with live bait or cut fish
- Any bottom-fishing technique where self-setting hooks reduce deep hooking
- Large-mouth species where circle hooks prevent throat damage
Skip if
- You fish with artificial lures that need J-hook bite
- You prefer smaller hooks for panfish and finesse
Strengths
- Circle hook design catches fish in the mouth corner and self-sets
- 145-degree upturned eye simplifies snelling and knot-tying
- High-carbon steel provides exceptional strength for large catfish
Trade-offs
- Circle hooks may not penetrate as quickly as J-hooks on explosive strikes
- 6/0 size is too large for most fish species other than catfish
- 100-pack is excessive for anglers who fish occasionally
