Quick take
A 100-pack of octopus hooks in multiple sizes with offset point, upturned eye, and 750° quenched steel construction.
This size #4 red octopus hook comes in a 100-piece pack, with a 145-degree upturned eye that suits a Snell knot and a 12-degree offset point. The high-carbon steel is heat-quenched, and the red coating is drawn over the hook for anglers rigging for catfish, Carolina rigs or walleye. Chemically sharpened points help the hook penetrate, making it a practical pick for first-time anglers and seasoned bass and walleye fishermen alike.
Best for
- Catfish and carp fishing with live bait and cut bait
- Shrimp and fresh bait presentations for saltwater species
- Carolina rigs and walleye bottom-fishing rigs
Skip if
- You tie flies; these are too large
- You fish exclusively lures and artificial presentations
Strengths
- 145° upturned eye simplifies snelling and rigging
- 12° offset improves hook-up rate across the fish's mouth
- 750° vacuum quenching increases hardness and reduces bending
Trade-offs
- Large quantities mean inventory for scenarios you never use
- Offset design reduces effectiveness in soft-mouth fish
- High-carbon steel rusts faster in saltwater without care
