Quick take
Pre-tied pompano rigs with heavy-duty 60 lb leaders and circle hooks, ready to use with a sinker for surf casting.
This is a four-piece set of pre-tied pompano rigs for fishing from the beach, a pier or a jetty. Each rig carries a 2/0 high-carbon steel circle hook, a swivel and bullet-shaped floats in two colors, so you only need to add a sinker and bait. It suits anglers targeting pompano, whiting, drum and speckled trout with sand fleas, shrimp or cut bait.
Best for
- Surf fishing for pompano, blues and whiting
- Casting long distances from beach and pier
- Beginner anglers who want ready-to-fish tackle
Skip if
- You fish calm inshore flats where light rigs are better
- You want multiple hook options for different species
Strengths
- Double-line T-knot reduces friction under heavy loads
- 60 lb leader handles heavy pyramid sinkers and long casts
- Circle hooks catch fish in the lip, improving release rates
Trade-offs
- Heavy leader may reduce strike detection on light line
- Float matrix adds complexity versus simpler one-float rigs
- Circle hooks are slower to set than J-hooks on hard strikes
