Quick take
A 4.7 oz ultralight baitcaster with dual spool options and magnetic brake system.
This DOVIELLO HICC50 is a compact left-hand baitcasting reel that weighs 4.7 oz, with a 7.1:1 gear ratio and a magnetic brake for controlled casts. It handles 8 to 25 lb line and lures from about 0.5 to 20 grams, which suits finesse and bait-finesse presentations. A drag topping out around 8.8 lb and a 10+1 stainless bearing setup round it out, and it comes with two spools for different line loads.
Best for
- Finesse baitcasting techniques
- All-day comfort on light tackle
- Anglers targeting small to mid-size fish
Skip if
- You fish heavy lures or offshore
- You need maximum drag for large saltwater fish
Strengths
- Ultralight graphite and aluminum frame reduces fatigue in long days
- Double-shielded stainless steel bearings ensure smooth operation
- Magnetic brake with 30 settings allows tuning for different lure weights
Trade-offs
- At 4.7 oz, the small spool capacity limits line capacity for heavy line
- Ultralight construction may not withstand extreme casting force
- Finesse setup requires practice to avoid backlashes
