Quick take
Hundred offset-point octopus hooks with black nickel finish for live bait and wacky rigs.
This 4/0 octopus hook comes in a 100-count pack of black stainless steel hooks, with a curved, slightly offset point and an upturned eye. Its eye suits a snell knot, which keeps the hook in line with the leader for a direct pull on the set. It fits live bait and Texas-rig presentations for walleye, catfish, bass and tuna.
Best for
- Live bait fishing for bass and pike
- Wacky rigging finesse presentations
- Saltwater bottom fishing and catfish
Skip if
- You need circle hooks for catch-and-release
- You fish very small baits requiring size 2 or smaller hooks
Strengths
- Offset beak point hooks mouth corner for faster hook sets
- Upturned eye keeps hook running straight on snell knots
- Black nickel coating resists corrosion in saltwater
Trade-offs
- Offset point can be hard to extract from toothy fish
- 4/0 size too large for finesse and small bait applications
- Black nickel finish wears over time with contact on rocks
