Quick take
A 10-pack of plastic hook keepers with three sizes of elastic rings for securing fishing hooks.
This set of ten black ABS hook keepers clips onto a rod blank and holds worm hooks or treble hooks in place between casts. Three sizes of elastic rubber rings let you match the keeper to different hook sizes. It suits anglers who want loose hooks kept off the guides and out of their hands while carrying a rod to the water, freshwater or salt.
Best for
- Keeping fishing hooks from tangling during transport or storage
- Separating different hook styles or sizes on a single rod
- Protecting rod guides from damage by loose treble hooks
Skip if
- You store hooks in compartmented tackle boxes
- You prefer permanent hook storage solutions
Strengths
- Three sizes of elastic rings accommodate worm, treble and various hook types
- Clip mechanism secures firmly to rod blank with no tools
- Plastic construction is light and will not rust
Trade-offs
- Elastic rings may slip over time and need replacement
- Hooks stay exposed to air when clipped, making them prone to rust in humid conditions
- Requires management of 10 individual keepers during transport
