Quick take
Hip-height waders made of durable PVC that let you wade knee-to-waist deep in shallow water and creeks.
These brown hip boots from Duck & Fish pair a PVC outer with a natural rubber inner and a rubber and PVC sole. A hook-and-loop closure keeps the fit adjustable. They suit anglers who wade shallow water, creek edges and stocked ponds and want waterproof legs without stepping up to full chest waders.
Best for
- Wadeable streams and shallow ponds
- Anglers who prefer a lightweight option over chest waders
- Bank fishing where chest depth water is rare
Skip if
- You need to wade deeper than hip height
- You fish cold water where insulation matters
Strengths
- PVC material is durable and waterproof
- Hip height keeps you light and mobile in shallow water
- Hook and loop straps keep them snug to your body
Trade-offs
- Not rated for wading deeper than hips
- PVC loses flexibility in cold water
- Limited insulation for cold-water fishing
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
