Quick take

A clear fluorocarbon leader line with high sensitivity for detecting takes.

Best for

  • Building custom leaders from bulk material
  • Finesse fishing requiring sensitivity
  • Fishing clear water where invisibility matters

Skip if

  • You prefer pre-tied leaders
  • You need very heavy leader material

Strengths

  • High sensitivity in fluorocarbon material
  • Clear color is nearly invisible to fish
  • 100m spool provides substantial length

Trade-offs

  • Fluorocarbon is stiffer than monofilament
  • 100m spool requires winding onto smaller spools
  • Japanese sizing (No. 3.5) may be unfamiliar to US anglers
