Quick take

An all-around carbon nylon line with good sensitivity and durability for varied freshwater and saltwater applications.

Best for

  • Lure fishing in multiple conditions
  • Surf fishing
  • General purpose fishing where versatility matters

Skip if

  • You need maximum sensitivity; fluorocarbon offers better depth perception
  • You fish in heavy weeds; braided line cuts vegetation better

Strengths

  • Carbon nylon construction combines nylon strength with enhanced sensitivity
  • Diameter of 0.235 mm casts reasonably far on light tackle
  • Works in both freshwater and saltwater without specialized care

Trade-offs

  • Sensitivity is less than pure fluorocarbon leaders
  • Slightly higher visibility than fluorocarbon in clear water
  • Not as flexible in cold water as some copolymer lines
