Quick take

A 6.25 in topwater popper with a giant water-pushing face and weight transfer system for long casts.

The Duel Yo-Zuri R1371 Mag Popper in Yellow is a 6-1/4 inch floating topwater popper with a bright yellow finish for a high-visibility surface bait. Its large face suits stop-and-go retrieves, pause-jerk-pop action and fast popping retrieves. It is the largest size in the Mag Popper line, a fit for saltwater anglers targeting predators near the surface.

Best for

  • Stop-and-go retrieves in warm water
  • Bass hunting at the surface
  • Saltwater popping for pike and stripers

Skip if

  • You fish in cold water where fish are inactive
  • You need quiet lures for wary fish

Strengths

  • Giant face creates massive water disturbance
  • Weight transfer system enables long casts
  • Heavy-duty hooks handle large bass and saltwater fish

Trade-offs

  • Loud popping attracts attention but may spook some fish
  • Heavy weight makes it tiring to fish all day
  • Large size limits appeal to smaller fish species
