Quick take
A telescopic gaff that folds to 57 cm for transport and extends to 105.5 cm to land large fish.
This Dutiplus telescopic gaff pairs an aluminum pole with a stainless steel hook and a rubber handle. The pole folds to about 22 inches and extends to roughly 41.5 inches, so it stows easily and still reaches over the side of a boat. The hook measures about 6.6 inches long by 4.25 inches wide, a size aimed at landing larger fish.
Best for
- Bank and pier fishing for large fish
- Boat fishing when space is limited
- Saltwater and freshwater large game
Skip if
- You fish in tight quarters; a fixed gaff takes less setup time
- You land mostly small fish under 5 lbs
Strengths
- Extends to 105.5 cm for reaching distant fish
- Collapses to pack in tackle bag or boat locker
- Large stainless steel head handles big catfish and pike
Trade-offs
- Telescopic design adds weight compared to a fixed gaff
- Locking mechanism must be tight to prevent collapse under load
- Requires both hands to extend fully
Fishing fit
- Water
- Freshwater
- Saltwater
