Quick take

Drop net with a 40 inch opening for catching prawns and crabs from piers, jetties, and rock pools.

This is a foldable drop net with a nylon mesh and steel wire frame, built for catching prawns, shrimp and crabs from a pier, jetty or harbour wall. The round top ring measures about 40 inches across, with a smaller ring of roughly 20 inches at the base. It pulls open with a string on top and folds down for carrying, and it can be baited and lowered as a simple trap.

Best for

  • Pier and jetty crabbing
  • Catching shrimp in shallow water
  • Rock pool prawn collection

Skip if

  • You fish from a boat

Strengths
