Quick take
A 2-inch pre-rigged soft plastic shrimp with nylon weave construction and a natural swimming tail for saltwater sight-fishing.
The 2-inch Natural Vudu Shrimp comes two to a pack and suits piers, docks and night fishing under lights, where small shrimp drift around the glow. Light spinning gear with 6 to 8 lb line is a fitting match for that kind of fishing.
Best for
- Free lining under a popping cork for redfish and trout
- Working shallow flats and grass beds for speckled trout
- Sight-fishing clear shallow water where realistic shrimp profile matters
Skip if
- You fish freshwater; this is saltwater only
- You want a shorter lure; 2 inches limits your target species size
Strengths
- Pre-rigged and ready out of the pack; no need for additional rigging
- Nylon weave construction provides durability and creates realistic segments
- Natural swimming tail motion attracts fish and triggers strikes without artificial action
Trade-offs
- Nylon weave makes the lure heavier and stiffer than pure soft plastic
- Pre-rigging may use hooks not ideal for all popping cork weights
- 2-inch size catches smaller fish; larger species need bigger profiles

- Saltwater
- Techniques
- Float fishing

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
