Quick take
A 3.5 in soft plastic shrimp with a weedless hook, tough and lifelike for many freshwater species.
Natural Brown shrimp baits at 3.5 inches, sold as a two-pack with a belly-style hook that keeps the bait weedless. The soft thermoplastic body is meant to glide through grass, a fit for anglers working thick cover.
Best for
- Pitching into vegetation and wood cover
- Bass and crappie in weeds
- Saltwater dock pilings and backwater
Skip if
- You need a lure that sinks quickly without a weighted head
- You fish open water where a weightless weedless won't reach bottom
Strengths
- Tough TPE material withstands dozens of fish without tearing
- Weedless hook glides through vegetation and wood without snagging
- Lifelike shrimp shape and dimpled texture appeal to bass, crappie and catfish
Trade-offs
- Without a weighted head it sinks slowly; pair with a jig head for deeper water
- Weedless hook design limits penetration on soft-mouth fish
- TPE has a distinct smell; don't mix with other soft plastics

About this type
A lure is an artificial bait that draws a strike with its shape, color and movement.
Each kind is built for certain depths and ways of fishing.
Weight decides how far a lure casts and what rod and line it needs; color changes how visible it is in the water.
